Ballistic Cell presented Blackboard in Poland
Ballistic Cell, together with the US Embassy in Poland, organized a discussion with representatives of Polish universities on the topic: “Reimagine education – eLearning and blended learning in higher education and the various options for funding.” The event took place on 24.06.2015 in the Copernicus Hall of the Westin Hotel, Warsaw.
Among the guests were representatives of many leading universities – the National Military University, the Pedagogical University in Warsaw, Vistula University, Kozminski University, the University of Lodz, the Warsaw Technical University, the Agricultural University in Krakow, and the Medical Universities of Lodz and Lublin.
The event was officially opened by Mr. Bill Tchaikovsky (Counsellor at the US Embassy in Poland) who said how excited he was about Blackboard entering the market and the opportunity that the e-learning platform provides for the Polish universities to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
Mr. Veselin Petkov – Sales Director of Ballistic Cell, informed the audience about Blackboard’s global leadership and the comprehensive service that Ballistic Cell provides, as an official representative of Blackboard for Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and Macedonia. He pointed out that the company is looking for partners with which to build long-term relationships and to implement long-term strategies for enhancing e-learning in the field of higher education. Ballistic Cell provides consultation, assessment of the current state of its partner organizations – universities, prepares a long-term action project and helps in finding the funding for implementing the projects.
Mr. Peter Panek – Regional Sales Director of Blackboard for Eastern Europe and Russia answered the question “Why choose Blackboard?”, how the platform identifies the difficulties faced by the universities in relation to the retention of students, how to increase number of the applicant students, how to achieve the optimization of courses and many others, as well as the solutions that Blackboard provides to address these difficulties.
The topic of the last presentation was „Finding the proper funding“. It was delivered by Mr Yulian Petkov – CEO of Ballistic Cell – with it he closed the presentational part and launched a discussion on the challenges faced by the universities in Poland, namely, that the needs of today’s students have changed. They want to have access to information and educational materials anywhere, anytime. They need to conduct continuous communication with their lecturers and peers in an electronic environment, to have access to e-books and manuals. They are interested in carrying out activities outside the classroom through access to available mobile applications and devices. Ballistic Cell helps the smooth changeover of the universities to the modern technologies in teaching and learning.
